Magnus Energy appoints Wouter Timmer as Head of Growth and M&A
Magnus Energy has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Wouter Timmer as Head of Growth, Mergers & Acquisitions. A former Big Four partner with almost 20 years of management consulting experience across Europe, Asia, and North America, Wouter will play a key role in driving Magnus Energy’s growth and expansion ambitions.
From ambition to acceleration
Wouter joins Magnus Energy after a long career in management consulting, where he led large-scale growth and transformation programmes. He brings deep expertise in growth strategy, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), partnerships, and value creation, as well as proven experience in building, scaling, and leading teams.
“Over the past 18 years, I’ve helped organisations turn their growth ambitions into tangible results; from defining strategic priorities to executing acquisitions and ensuring successful integration,” Wouter says. “Magnus Energy has already achieved remarkable progress, and I’m excited to join the team and help accelerate its journey as a truly pan-European energy consultancy.”
Accelerating growth across Europe
Magnus Energy’s Managing Director, Alexander van der Mark, adds: “We want to be the leading pan-European consultancy firm with a broad range of services dedicated to energy transition challenges. With Wouter’s experience in strategy, M&A and international scaling, we are taking the next step in professionalising our organisation and accelerating our European growth.”
Over the past years, Magnus Energy has expanded rapidly, including the acquisition of Dutch consultancy Ciratum and the opening of new hubs in Brussels, Cologne, Copenhagen, and Vienna.
Scaling capability and impact
Alexander continues: “Guiding organisations through the energy transition requires both deep sector expertise and strong delivery capabilities. We’ve expanded our services to support clients from strategy and design to technical and regulatory implementation.”
Magnus Energy’s portfolio today spans complex programme management, technical and regulatory advisory, and business and technology consulting, helping clients navigate the evolving European energy landscape.
Driving the next phase of growth
In his new role, Wouter will focus on executing Magnus Energy’s growth and buy-and-build strategy, accelerating international expansion, and scaling the company’s operating model and delivery platform.
“Magnus Energy has the people, the reputation, and the ambition to grow further,” Wouter concludes. “My focus will be on enabling that growth; strengthening our capabilities, expanding across Europe, and ensuring we continue to deliver lasting value to our clients and partners.”
