Magnus Energy strengthens leadership team with three directors

The year has started strongly with the promotion of three exceptional leaders – Christiane Stut, Ksenia Tolstrup, and Line van Kesteren – to the role of Director. These promotions reflect Magnus Energy’s commitment to empowering strong leadership and expanding our capabilities to guide clients throughout the energy transition. Let us reintroduce these leaders and share more about their ambitions in their new roles.

Christiane Stut: leading complex programmes in the DACH region

Christiane Stut has over a decade of programme management experience in the European energy sector. She has led major international market integration programmes, particularly for transmission system operators (TSOs) and market operators (NEMOs). Having been with Magnus Energy for more than 10 years, Christiane is valued for her strong expertise in German and European energy markets, her structured, collaborative and leadership style, and her ability to lead complex programmes.

“Over the past years, we have been working on many assignments in the DACH region with a dedicated German-speaking team. I am looking forward to expanding this further and helping our clients in bringing their projects into operations.” – Christiane Stut

Ksenia Tolstrup: expert in energy system flexibility & balancing

Dr. Ksenia Tolstrup brings over a decade of experience in the European electricity markets and energy system flexibility. She has deep expertise in the markets for system services, like balancing and congestion management, and plays a key role in modelling, strategic analysis, and market design for stakeholders across Europe. With strong analytical and intercultural skills, Ksenia is a trusted advisor on complex energy system challenges.

“Since joining Magnus Energy two years ago, I have focused on developing our technical advisory services. During this time, we have supported many clients with strategic, market, regulatory and modelling projects. As the electricity market landscape is getting less predictable and more volatile, we’re committed to helping market parties, system operators and other actors navigate rapid changes and minimise risk exposure.” – Ksenia Tolstrup

Line van Kesteren: collaborative leader in European electricity markets

Line van Kesteren combines deep technical expertise with a strong collaborative leadership style. She has more than a decade of experience in guiding electricity market integration programmes. Line has worked in various roles on topics like: flow-based capacity calculation, market coupling, and implementation of multi-NEMO arrangements. Line is known for translating complex technical and policy challenges into practical pathways for implementation, supporting the bigger mission of creating a sustainable, affordable, and resilient European energy system.

“Over the years, I have seen our team supporting countless European electricity market programmes. We have set a high standard in bringing these projects forward with our dedicated methodology. I’m looking forward to taking our involvement to the next level and empower our clients even more through coaching and mentoring.” – Line van Kesteren

Preparing for a new phase of growth

These promotions are part of Magnus Energy’s ambition to meet increasing client demand: from technical advisory services to complex program management, and from business technology consulting to delivery. Expanding our leadership team ensures continuity of excellence and the capacity to deliver for our clients.

“We are thrilled to recognise Ksenia, Line, and Christiane for their outstanding contributions and leadership. Their expertise and personalities strengthen our leadership team and equips us for the next phase of growth. Ensuring we continue to guide clients through increasingly complex energy landscapes.” – Alexander van der Mark, Manaing Director of Magnus Energy
